The
Fishing
The mean weight of salmon in the river Torne is among the
highest in Europe. Specimens weighing over 15 kilos are not
unusual. The mean weight of salmon landed in Lovikka in 2003
was 6.5 kilos, and guests on average were in touch with one
fish per angling session - and the success rate was one fish
per three attempts.
In addition to salmon fishing, there are good stocks of grayling
and trout, above all in the rivers Tärendö, Torne and Lainio.
There are also a number of lakes and smaller watercourses
where the angling concentrates on grayling, trout, large perch
and pike.
